The steamship s/s Aslög was launched on 15 August 1916 by N.V. C. v.d. Giessen & Zonen’s Shipyards at Krimpen a/d IJssel. The cargo vessel was owned by Stockholms Rederi AB Svea, commonly known as Sveabolaget, and sailed under the Swedish flag.

On 3 October 1916, the ship arrived at Alblasserdam, at the Alblasserdamsche Machinefabriek, where the boilers and steam engine were installed. On 13 December, the sea trials took place on the Nieuwe Waterweg. That same month, the vessel departed on her maiden voyage to Baltimore in the United States.

In 1943, the ship ran aground near Viksten Lighthouse, Landsort (Nynäshamn), Sweden.
In 1949, disaster nearly struck. The
Aslög got into difficulty in the Slijkgat (near Stellendam) in winds of force 11–12. Three lifeboats were launched: from Breskens, Veere and Stellendam. The Aslög eventually came through safely and did not require assistance. The lifeboats from Breskens and Veere returned, but the one from Stellendam ran into serious trouble itself. Two crew members from the open wheelhouse (without lifejackets) were swept overboard and lost their lives.

In 1942 as well, the Aslög was in the Netherlands. Crew member Helge Berg (with sender’s address: s/s Aslög, Rederi A-B Svea, Stockholm) sent a letter franked with a 12½c Lebeau stamp from Rotterdam C.S. 5-5-1942 to Josef Österberg in Stockholm. There is German censorship.

In 1957, the Aslög was sold to a Liberian company and renamed Torgu.
In 1962, the vessel was sold for scrap.
