In the old days workers for P.T.T. started young and had a life long career at the post office. Newcomers got a good training and in 1955 a book was published (95 pages!) ‘Wegwijzer voor jeugdig ptt personeel’ (Guide for youthful PTT staff).

It gives a very practical survey about all parts and departments of P.T.T. It starts from the beginning till the end: the pension. A lot of practical information has been added such as the ranks and the postal abbreviations. There is no author name in the book, but a name of the illustrator for the numerous illustrations. That is done by Fiep westendop (1916-2004), famous for the illustrations of Jip and Janneke.
