B- and V. Camp “De Hoefslag”, Rotterdam, was a detention and residence camp located on the Hoofdweg. It formed part of the Dutch system of special post-war justice. The detention section was intended for individuals who were still under investigation, while the residence section housed those who had already been convicted.
Members of the NSB and collaborators were imprisoned there, and there was also a women’s camp. The camp was in use between 1946 and 1949.
As the sender (Kwakernaat) has a number, he was almost certainly a detainee rather than a member of the camp staff.
