Rolstemps (Roll postmarks) are not the most popular postmarks as they are meant to be used on parcels. On “normal” letters and cards you can find them, but most of the time they are cancelled to order, therefore not very interesting to the collector.

To find this type of postmarks on commercially used small sized envelopes or cards is trying to find a needle in a haystack. So quite uncommon. This envelope (sender is Handel Maatschappij Campbell Mac Coll & Co.) to London got the hand roll postmark “Verzend/per/Luchtpost” of Batavia, 8.11.1935.
