During the Second World War Winterhelp, short for “Stichting Winterhulp Nederland” (the Netherlands Winterhulp Foundation), was the national-socialist organization that took over all social aid from the government in the Netherlands. Part of the funds came from lotteries and stamps.

People regularly come across lottery slips of Winterhulp, often in an envelope. What had not been known so far, is that there also existed Winterhulp seals, such as on this lottery envelope from 1941. It is a perforated pink seal. It is not known whether there were other Winterhulp seals (for other years).
