Nowadays social philately is getting more important. We can learn a lot from documents. In the small town of Genemuiden, north of the city of Zwolle end the northern tip of the so called Bible belt, they needed a new officer at the community office per January, 1, 1915.

It is interesting to see what the payment was for this job: NLG 300 per year! This is in present day money NLG 2.859. To compare: inland letter rate at that time was 5 Cent, which should today be 48 Eurocent.
